Did you know that we have an online market here in Chattanooga? The Scenic City Food Cooperative supports the local community with the click of a button!
The Scenic City Food Co-op operates as an online hub for growers and customers both. While the ordering is virtual and can be done anytime between Friday at 5pm and Tuesday at 7pm, pick up is on Thursdays from 4:30-6:45 at North Shore Fellowship (118 Woodland Avenue). Cash, check or credit card is accepted, and there is a 10% surcharge per order.
“SCFC is a great way for busy people to easily enjoy great, local products,” says Kristie McKinley, the Scenic City market manager. According to McKinley, the SCFC’s goal is to have a brick and mortar store to serve and educate the community, with classes being one way to do that.
Like a traditional Farmers’ Market, sellers get to choose their own prices and list the items available. Sellers also can choose whether a minimum order is required.
So, whether you are a farmer looking to sell your product or a customer wanting to buy ingredients, the Scenic City Food Co-op can provide an easy transaction between seller and buyer.
